Lost World Caverns

Discovered in 1942, Lost World Caverns is a truly magical place. The cavern features amazing rock formations and presents challenges for avid adventurers. The self-guided tour covers a 1/2-mile loop where you see amazing formations from beginning to end. It takes about 45 minutes to complete, and the memories last a lifetime. Make sure to pack a light jacket, sturdy shoes, and a camera to capture the beautiful sights.


Historic Covered Bridges


Explore the enchanting locales of yesteryear. Inquire with your hosts for a map of the area's charming covered bridges. Delight in scenic drives through the picturesque West Virginia landscape, pausing to marvel at these timeless masterpieces.


Greenbrier river


Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Greenbrier River and the Greenbrier River Trail. Whether you choose to hike, float, or fish, the Greenbrier River provides a delightful array of experiences for everyone.  


Cass Scenic Railroad

Enjoy the Cass Scenic Railroad and ride the legendary Shay locomotives. Railroad enthusiasts of all ages will love hearing, seeing, and riding these classic logging steam locomotives in refurbished passenger cars.  

Moncove lake

Located in Monroe County, Moncove Lake is a peaceful 250-acre park with a 500-acre wildlife management area. Moncove Lake State Park is a favorite setting for outdoor gatherings, camping, and water recreation. The park has excellent fishing opportunities and offers seasonal rowboat, kayak, and paddleboat rentals. Its proximity to Peter’s Mountain and the ridge-and-valley section of the Appalachian Mountains make Moncove Lake a birding hot spot — more than 160 species can be seen in the area.

Cook's Old Mill

Cook's Old Mill is a mid-1800's gristmill on route 122, just ¼ mile west of Greenville, West Virginia. It is a privately owned park-like venue for tourists, history buffs, Cook descendants and mill enthusiasts. The mill is an anchor point on the Farm Heritage Road, one of Monroe County's Scenic Byways.
Travelers and neighbors alike are invited to wander around the grounds, take pictures, have a picnic, do some fishing in the millpond or just soak up some history. The mill is open when we are working there, and can be opened on request if we are available.

HINTON HISTORICAL DOWNTOWN AND RAILROAD

Hinton Railroad Museum contains historical artifacts of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad.
The Railroad Museum is located in Historic Downtown Hinton, approximately half an hour West of Alderson.
